Polaris is Here!!

We went Live on April 9th!
We are now members of the largest multi-type library consortium in the country! You now have access to over 400 libraries and almost 10,000,000 items! There have been a few small hitches so your continued patience is appreciated.
Our new Catalog can be found at okwp.illshareit.org. You can check your account, renew items, request items, save your searches, and create lists!
Click here to see the video on how to use the new catalog!
If you had items on request before the week of April 1st, please call or stop by the library. We will need to put your name back on the lists of those requests as they were not transferred to the new system. We received a printed list of requests from Illinois Heartland but we are unsure as to how accurate it is.
Visit Oakwood's newest Facebook Page!
Oakwood Public Library and Oakwood Schools have teamed up to create an exciting new page. Oakwood Reads is a place where members of the Oakwood community can talk about what books they are reading! Like us and join the discussion now!
Preschool Story Time!
Preschool Storytime is back! The program is free for children ages 2-5 accompanied by an adult. The program will include storytime, music, crafts and a snack. Choose which time best fits your schedule: Tuesday nights 6:00-7:00pm or Wednesday mornings 10:30am-11:30am. Space is limited. Call Joan at 354-4777 for more information.

We are now Illinois Heartland Library Syst

The four library systems in the southern part of the state of Illinois merged in 2011. This included Lewis and Clark, Shawnee, Rolling Prairie and Lincoln Trails. Please go to the website: www.illinoisheartland.org to become better informed on this merger.
If you are using My Media Mall to download books you will need to now use Illinois Heartland.
We will try to keep you informed of any changes.
