Mr Popper's Penguins 

 Join us on Thursday, January 26th from 6:30-8:00 to watch "Mr. Popper's Penguins" with the whole family.  Bring a sleeping bag or pillow and we'll provide the popcorn and drinks!

 

 

Adult Book Club

"When Will There Be Good News" by Kate Atkinson is the book that we will be discussing in February.  Books are available for check out at the front desk.  Read the book then join us Thursday, February 2 at 6:30pm for a lively discussion.  Call or stop by the library for more information.

 

 

Rebecca Caudill Book Club

If you are in grade 4 - 8, we would like to invite you to be part of the Rebecca Caudill Book Club.  The group will meet every Tuesday, 3:15pm - 4:00pm at the library.  Sometimes snacks, sometimes games!  Help us pick the state-wide winner of the Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award!  Call Joan at the library for more information, 354-4777.

 

We are now Illinois Heartland Library SystIllinios Heartland Library Systemem

The four library systems in the southern part of the state of Illinois merged as of July 1, 2011.  This included Lewis and Clark, Shawnee, Rolling Prairie and Lincoln Trails.  Please go to the website:  http://www.cooperationtoday.org to become better informed on this merger. 

If you are using My Media Mall to download books you will need to now use Illinois Heartland.

We currently have yearbooks for Oakwood High School 1917-2010.  We are missing a few years.  If you have a yearbook from one of the following years that you no longer need, please consider donating it to the library.

1937, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1967, 1970, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1983
